For some reason I decided to watch PS Man this weekend. Got through ep 12 and just couldn't go on. I was really enjoying it until it got to the point where I cared so much more about the second leads than the main couple. I mean, when I feel absolutely nothing for the female lead crying in the rain, but I bawl my eyes out over the second female lead getting her heart broken, the show probably did something wrong. I think this is the only Taiwanese drama I've ever come across where the second female lead is more nuanced than the first lead. And while neither of the male leads are a prize, I find myself caring much more about the second lead, and this is a guy who started off as even more of a jackass than the first male lead, so... I just don't know what to do with this drama.

HAAHHA. I guess I wasn't the only one who found PS Man attractive...:P
I posted a confession to UCSB Confessions page just now about him being good-looking, and some people already liked it. :) So sad how he left UCSB though...>____<

That moment when you log into LinkedIn and notice that you have a notification and when you pull down the notification bar to see who it is, you find out your previous polisci teacher viewed your profile. O_O Creepy how LinkedIn shows that now..maybe he could see that I viewed his profile as well. Grah..okay. Not signing into LinkedIn anymore..:/
LMAO, so I logged into my LinkedIn after months of not logging in, and guess who I found in my inbox to add me to their network? PS Man, of all people. He requested that on August 8th, and good thing my friend wanted me to look up skills for him to use in his resume, or else I would have never seen it. That was a good surprise? Maybe that's why he appeared in my dream randomly 3 weeks ago or something because he was wondering why I haven't added him. LOL. Okay, whatever, but yeah, now I have to edit my profile to be like professional..even more professional than it already is. I wonder how in the world did he even find me...maybe through the UCSB network..?
Oh well, back to my studying and papers. Bleh. No sleeeep? Potentially. Coffeeeeeee tomorrow. :)
Life Musings...
Today in PS 189 class, the teacher was telling us that going to grad school or professional schools isn't worth it because there are way too many people with advanced degrees without a job, essentially meaning they are in huge amounts of debt. :/ For example, she's currently looking for a job as Assistant Professor in Political Science, and throughout the nation, there are 8 positions. That's crazy, considering there are a lot of recently graduated grad students and/or graduating grad students who are doing their dissertation in political science. Her insight made me think of PS Man, who has adjusted or is currently adjusting to his life at New Jersey, and that I guess he was lucky and/or accomplished to have gotten a tenure track job. Maybe that's why he is going to New Jersey - maybe he had no choice and that was the few places who did accept him as a Assistant Professor based on his curriculum vitae. But he did publish once, and probably TA-ed a couple of times. I know my political theory teacher, the 189 one, has TA-ed 17 times, and is finally teaching her own class (namely the one I'm enrolled in at the moment). As for PS Man, I think he has taught his own class..12 times (I just creeped GOLD from 2009-present, and I know he got his Ph.D from UCSB in 2010). So I guess that's a lot, but then again, international relations classes are offered more, and theory classes..not so much. As a result, I guess that's how PS Man got a track job...o_o
Anyway, that's besides the point of the post. After hearing her insight, I think I probably won't go to grad school for international relations. Too much money and I probably won't even get a job. Plus, grad school takes a total of 7 years, that's including both master's and doctoral degrees, which means if I were to go to grad school (assuming one even accepts me for my crappy GPA), I'll have been in higher education for 11 years..including bachelor's degree. O_O I don't really like reading that much anyway; I just say grad school for the name. I might as well just go directly into something I like, which I have yet to discover. If I'm lucky, I'll go work in the government with a bachelor's degree..but I'm not so sure if that's even feasible. We'll just see. To be honest though, I probably will end up doing something completely unrelated to my political science degree..haha. So much work just for the name on the diploma. Oh well. So in any case, I'll explore my options, but either way, after I graduate from UCSB, I'm taking a gap year and then see where life leads me. Haha..putting my life into fate; I don't know if that's a good idea.
