âPancakesâ Platonic!Balthazar x Plus-Size!Reader
Request: Hey! Would you ever do a Balthazar x plus size reader fic? I like the idea of the reader saying prompt 29.âDo you even own a shirt?â and Balthazar replying something like "I am wearing a shirt" (you know a reference to how deep the neck lines are). It doesn't have to be anything romantic just something funny. Thanks!
A/N: Two fics in one day! Thatâs a new record for me! @morganofthecoves1 let me know what you think! I tried my best, but any advice that you have for writing for a plus-size reader is greatly appreciated!
Prompt 29: âDo you even own a shirt?â
You left your room in the bunker in search of breakfast. The boys were gone, out hunting a couple of vamps, something you knew they could easily handle on their own. That left you and Castiel with the run of the place. In an attempt to keep Castiel up to date on pop culture, youâd spent the night bingeing your favorites on Netflix. Youâd popped all of the popcorn you could find in the bunker, pulled out your secret stash of chocolate that youâd been keeping hidden from Dean, and dug around in Deanâs room until you found his secret stash of chocolate as well. From what you could tell, Castiel had enjoyed the binge-watching and the food, but you still had a hard time reading him. Â
The angel was sitting in the kitchen when you walked into the room, reading one of the books that Sam had gotten him for Christmas.
âGood morning, Y/N,â he said without looking up from his book.
You opened the cupboard to pull out the pancake mix. âHey, Cas. Should I have blueberry pancakes or chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast?â
At that, Cas looked up from his book and tilted his head to the side. âI know one of your favorite foods is chocolate, but Iâve always thought blueberries tasted better in pancakes.â
âBlueberry pancakes it is, then,â you said as you set about mixing the batter and heating the stovetop.
âYou should also know that Balthazar is here,â Cas stated as he looked back down at his book. âHe showed up sometime after you went to bed. Said something about needing a safe place to hide.â
You turned around, pancakes momentarily forgotten. âIs he drunk? Did he get drunk and then steal something?â You put a hand on your hip and pointed your spatula at Cas. âBecause if he did either of those things, Iâm kicking him out. He can find somewhere else to hide.â
âIâm not drunk, my dear, but I did steal something,â Balthazar said, walking into the kitchen, wine glass in hand. âI am, however, in the process of getting drunk. That is if your boys keep enough alcohol around to get the job done. Care to join me?â
You snorted, âIâm not a day drinker Balthazar, but if something ends up tracking you to the bunker because youâre a klepto, then I might have to become one.â You narrowed your eyes, noticing that his shirt was much lower cut than normal. You didnât think you even owned a shirt with a V-neck that deep. âDo you even own an actual shirt?â you questioned, turning back to your pancakes.
Furrowing his brows, Balthazar glanced at Cas who just continued to read his book. âAre you quite alright, dear? I am, in fact, wearing a shirt. Were you knocked on your head during your last hunt?â
âI believe sheâs referring to the fact that we can see your entire chest, brother,â Cas said without looking up from his book.
You nodded in agreement, stacking your pancakes on a plate and moving to the fridge to grab some maple syrup. âItâs also about two sizes too small, so you might as well not even be wearing a shirt to begin with.â
âI didnât realize you had such a problem with my attire,â Balthazar said, sitting down next to Castiel, a slight frown pulling at the edges of his mouth.
Placing your plate down on the table, you sat across from the two angels. âI donât have a problem with your attire, Bal,â you stated cutting into your pancakes, âI just think itâs funny that your entire wardrobe consists of V-necks so low that I wouldnât even be able to wear them out in public, and a glass of alcohol.â As you began eating, you noticed the look of confusion on Balthazarâs face. You finished chewing and looked over at Castiel, âCas, wouldnât you say that youâve seen your brother with a glass of scotch or wine enough times to say itâs considered part of his wardrobe?â
Cas looked up, staring at Balthazar for a few moments before nodding. âI think out of the last ten times Iâve seen you, eight of those times youâve had some form of alcohol on your person. Iâd say that is enough of a percentage for alcohol to be considered part of your wardrobe.â
Balthazar set his glass down on the table and crossed his arms. âI canât believe that my brother and one of the few humans that I can tolerate are insulting me like this. I come here for sanctuary and this is the welcome that I get.â
You swallowed another bite of pancakes, looking up to meet Castielâs eyes. A flirty, drunk Balthazar you would handle, but a pouty, sullen Balthazar could cause more problems than youâd be able to handle. âPancakes!â you exclaimed, pushing your chair back from the table and standing up. âWhy donât I make you some pancakes and you can continue in your effort to drink all of the boysâ alcohol. Weâll just forget I said anything about your tendency to not wear actual shirts. I wonât even tell them it was you that drained their supply of hunterâs helper.â
The angel squinted at you, contemplating your offer, before reaching forward to pick up his glass of wine and draining it in a few quick seconds. âI suppose Iâll be able to get over your insult to my character.â
âGreat!â you smiled, grabbing a clean bowl and mixing some more batter. âChocolate chips or blueberries?â
He tilted his head to the side, looking a lot like Castiel did whenever you asked him a question that had no factual answer. âChocolate chips. Theyâll go nicely with the bottle of merlot I found in the library.â
âOf course they will,â you laughed, dropping in the chocolate chips and stirring them into the batter. At least you wouldnât have to deal with a cranky angel for the rest of the day.
