@anonymous submitted: Hux in Palpatine wins and Ben is Pryde's pleasure slave AU!
Hux is alive! Unlike in canon, he doesn't go towards his death after freeing Poe, Finn and Chewie. Much like canon though, he doesn't switch sides out of the goodness of his heart....
So Hux is brought onboard. No one in The Resistance is really happy about this ((Fancy that, being the guy who designed and fired a superweapon who killed five planets worth of people makes making new friends hard! Who'd of though?)), but they know that Hux could very well be their only chance of defeating The First Order once and for all. Hux is a bit uh, "selective" about what secrets he spills ((He still kind of wants to rule the galaxy and all)), but even if he hadn't been, it likely wouldn't have made much of a difference.
Palpatine's Final Order decimates The Resistance. The Starfighter squads die like flies, Poe is the only pilot who survives ((Poe is understandably traumatized by this)). Finn and Jannah's charge with Space!Horses goes horribly wrong, Poe has to rescue the few who survived ((Finn and BB-8 are happily amongst those survivors)). All of The Resistance's allies are either destroyed or flee for their lives.
Then Rey dies and Ben is taken captive.
Hux is witness to all of this. He watches as Poe BARELY holds it together, gathers those few who are still alive and retreats.... to Yavin IV. He waits until everyone is huddled in Kes Dameron's living room ((Kes for his credit handles his only son landing in his backyard with roughly a dozen distraught friends surpringly well! He makes them soup and digs out every spare pillow and blanket that he has.)), and makes his case.
What's left of The Resistance can't stay here. They probably shouldn't have come here at all ((Poe just took everyone to the first place he ever remembered feeling safe, okay?!)). The Emperor will come for them soon, he's likely already on his way.
He suggests that perhaps if they could locate The Finalizer, they could take it over. Hux is certain that the officers he left behind on his old Star Destroyer remain loyal to him and are likely already chaffing under The Emperor's rule.
If he can convince the crew to follow him, then The Resistance can join forces with them and they can all escape deep into The Unknown Regions. They won't win the war today or even within the next year, but perhaps they can gather enough strength to someday come and take the galaxy back.
Poe --Desperate to grasp onto any form of hope-- readily agrees to that plan. Most of the others don't, they're either tired of fighting altogether or too uncomfortable with the idea of basically repeating The First Order's origin story.... with The First Order.
So in end, it's only Poe, Finn, Rose ((Poe trusts Hux, Finn doesn't trust Hux but is desperate to keep Poe safe from him and Rose also doesn't trust Hux but wants to keep Finn safe from him)) and the droids who go with Hux on the mission to stage a coup on The Finalizer. The mission is a success! Despite the low numbers of the "strike team", this ultimately doesn't matter.... Hux was right. His officers are loyal to him and want out of the elder Imperial's grasp.
Hux naturally betrays The Resistance at this point.
He has the droids sent away to be reprogrammed, Finn and Rose are dragged down to Reconditioning and Poe? Well, perhaps one can't blame Hux for wanting to keep the pilot close to his side. Ever since his beloved Millicent died when Starkiller Base was destroyed, he's been lonely.
So Poe is to become Hux's new pet ((Poor Poe is without hope at this point)).
But before The Finalizer leaves the known galaxy altogether Hux hears some VERY interesting news.... Evidently Kylo Ren is still alive and has been given to Pryde as a token of The Emperor's favor!
Well that won't do! Hux will have to find a way to grab Ren and THEN make for the Unknown Regions. His Poe could use the company and well, Hux is a petty fellow after all. He can't resist getting revenge on Ren.
So Ben is rescued by Hux in the end, but Hux isn't much of an improvement over Pryde....
