prxfoundlydisturbed replied to your post:heyyyy honey
thanks my love <3 you actually explained it really well <3
no problem! I added a note at the bottom of the post that I forgot to mention. I realized after that my self promo image had more of a polkadot look than the image I made in the tutorial. So if you wanted that I put the max radius at 4 px instead of 5 px!
heyyyy honey <3 i just wanted to say heya & ask you a quick question: you know that self promo graphic ? i love it & i was wondering how you made it
Thank you! I can definitely help you out! Do you mean the dotted texture? It’s actually a pretty simple photoshop filter. ——- So the way I do it is I get my picture all pretty using the adjustments ( mostly using brightness/contrast, vibrance, and selective color )——- then I make a copied layer of the picture (right click on the picture’s layer and go to ‘duplicate layer’), I’ll explain why I do this in a minute. ——- Then you want to use the filter on the top layer. You go to filter —> pixelate —> Color Halftone and here are the dimensions I used:
——- So then your photo is going to look intensely pixelated like this:
—— To fix that, you go to the opacity of the top layer that you just pixelated and bring it down until you like the texture. I brought mine down to 17%—— So my outcome looks like this:
There may be a more simpler way to do this, but this is what I taught myself. Thanks for asking, I hope I helped! Jump into my askbox if you need anymore help xo
edit: I should probably mention that depending on picture size you may want to change the dimensions around, mostly the max radius. If you just mess around with it, you should come out with cool differences in texture.
