Incredibly honored, excited, and thrilled to celebrate the release of George Goldberg’s first photobook, Protest Book, completed towards the latter end of 2021 during the Covid-19 pandemic. This work and book memorialize multiple Black Lives Matter protests in the Tampa Bay area through a series of black and white 35mm photographs during the summer of 2020.
Documenting multiple angles and perspectives of the protests, George’s work illustrates a poetic series of loud and still moments; painting both scenes of collective tension and unity in the hot Florida sun that particular summer in the wake of George Floyd’s death. This book was made in collaboration with One in the Spiritual— a temporary studio practice aiming to publish self-taught photographers and artists of color first book. Everyone has one book. Special thanks to Joshua Goldberg, Rick Myers, Cody Saporito and Nadhia Vega. 1st edition of 40, Perfect bound with a coated gloss exterior and coated matte interior 22.8cm x 30.4cm 19 pages
