Leon has been on edge all day, having learned of Dee’s kidnapping. Finally getting the okay from Nox is all he needs to grab his backpack and go, after a quick goodbye to family. (He can only hope they understand.)

Soon, he’s in Nox’s Postwick, which is just as surreal as it’s always been, but with casual clothes and tied up hair, he at least should be somewhat inconspicuous in being... himself.

               he spun around at the sudden contact, suspicion bright in violet eyes.      ( an attack? from what? ) their edge softened considerably at the sight of the tiny steel type. contrary to popular belief, oberon held no ill will towards the pokemon his beloved fairies were weak to — far from it. though they weren’t his favorites      ( and their association with macro cosmos left a bitter taste in his mouth ) the gym leader could nonetheless respect what they brought to the table. stalwart defense. razor sharp attacks. unbreakable will.

OH, HOW IRONIC IT IS. The trickster finding himself right at the center of another’s trick.

Bede stiffens at the repeated touches to his shoulders--the only reason he’s not pushed to immediate irritation (as he normally would) being that he knows that what he’s dealing with isn’t a human touch. And while he by far prefers the company of Pokemon over most people...this particular predicament was an exception. 

Violets slowly peer to his sides, attempting to survey the culprits...and oh, of course it just had to be poison types. Likely as troublesome as the fae of Glimwood could be given the shameless snickers; the only reason he’s not questioning the safety of his life is the presence of his Hatterene nearby. 

“You two must think you’re clever, don’t you?” He murmurs, huffing. “Shoo. Off with you two.” 

This wasn’t the first time she was beginning to think that maybe this trip to Galar wasn’t such a great idea. Or, more specifically, the lack of reliable backup plans in case something didn’t quite go the way she expected.

Of course she was as prepared as she could possibly be. Absorbed all information about the Wild Area she could get her hands on (including the unusual weather conditions), learned how to put up a tent because that’s what you apparently did when you wanted to spend some time in one place, practiced how to do it. And yet the terrain was not quite as friendly to her efforts as the conservatory. Natural conditions, they said. Alola’s natural conditions did not feature such an unwilling ground.

               ❝ no, i suppose you’ve got a POINT. ❞ a huff, harsh enough to be noticeable. bede flexed his fingers as if he didn’t know what to do with them —— unwanted energy buzzing wildly through each NERVE ENDING like lightning. ❝ i’m not afraid of a few volunteers in costume, thrashing about like magikarp out of water. i already know this is fake —— and even if it weren’t, i’m plenty confident in my ability to DEFEND myself. ❞ with or without his pokemon by his side. people were always so quick to assume the fairy trainer wreathed in pastels was somehow more fragile than the rest of them —— when in fact, the OPPOSITE was true.

               to be honest, that was entirely the problem; bede was a bit too SCRAPPY for such an endeavor. a childhood of picking fights and constantly watching his back had formed certain... habits that were DIFFICULT to break.
