A Spoon Full of Dirt
Its been a while since you heard from me. So long in fact, an introduction may be necessary. But I will instead assume you guys have a great memory, and continue where we left off-- the coffee shop, and where we currently stand.Â
Logo is still in the process of being designed and can expect it to surface in the next couple weeks. A graphic designer, and new friend of mine by the name of Joshua Smith is the man behind the creative. Joshua is very active within the Detroit area and has a ton of experience in the retail industry. After just one meeting with him, I was confident he could deliver us a logo that would share our same breath. Here, go check out his portfolio: whoisjoshua.com.
For the last several months, I have been digging. Pushing past the dirt, rocks, and mud, to ultimately arrive at the core of "proper cup" and to reveal its essence. You might think with the amount of time it took, I was using a spoon to dig; those would be right.Â
It is a delicate process. One that requires patience, integrity, and a clear visual of the end goal. Although there were several foreign arrivals, I feel confident that we found ourself.Â
Coffee – Drive-thru = Community
Go ahead, do the math.
Here, we’ll break it down for you. Lets start with coffee.
We love coffee. Good coffee. Coffee that takes you back to its origin. Coffee that renders notes only a perfect balance of climate, soil, altitude, and shade can produce.Â
As for drive-thrus, we hate them. They rob us of an experience, an interaction, an education. It’s our use of the subtraction sign that preserves the most important part of our offering—community.Â
Community is our purpose. And our approach—a shareable coffee experience.
