What is Otoplasty?
Otoplasty is a short, outpatient surgical procedure performed in an ambulatory surgical center that corrects common cosmetic ear deformities. It can correct common congenital ear fold defects like prominent ears, cup ears and Stahl (Spock) ears, as well as acquired deformities due to trauma like cauliflower ears.
What is Otoplasty Recovery?
Recovery takes a week or two. You can expect to be sore the first few days. A large head wrap is needed for the week after surgery to maintain the shape achieved with surgery. A headband is used at night for three months.
