Here's the fastest way you may be losing trust with your audience... I signed up for a freebie the other day with someone I'd never heard of. It was for a client onboarding template. (anyone else love templates?? πββοΈ) It was exactly what I was looking for. I was excited! Not only am I a HUGE systems + process nerd, but I love the idea of saving time + energy #projectorvibes So I said yes, entered my email, + went scouring my email for it. I checked my inbox, my social folder, my promotional folder, my spam folder, random others folders JUST in case I missed it... But it wasn't anywhere to be found. It was late at night, so when I didn't receive an email just yet, I shrugged off the excitement + decided to check again the next day. The next day... same thing. So I sent the woman a DM on FB (where she had sent me the link) to see if there was something I missed. That's where everything went from excitement...to gross. Not only have I still not received it, but she read my message + DIDNβT respond. As a business owner, that completely rubbed me the wrong way. So I looked in my email one last time, checked the link she sent me initially to make sure I did everything correctly, + gave it another day. Still no freebie email. Still no response. βThough her marketing started getting to my email just fine. At this point, I felt used + manipulated. βBecause after the freebie, there was a pop-up offer to buy something with no links to click "no, thank you" + move on. So, as far as I know, the freebie doesn't exist + I was merely a transaction to her. Less than that even. Because my DM wasn't even acknowledged. To go through that process + be put through the emotional rollercoaster + then be treated like a dollar sign... immediate loss of trust. And I needed a shower for how used I felt. π βYour leads are EVERYTHING. If something doesn't work right in your business, it tanks your conversion. If someone can't trust you, you've lost that respect + trust for good.
