I’ve seen a lot of artists do great re-draws of old work, and since I was sitting down to make this helmet again, I thought a side-by-side might be nice.
2014 vs. 2017. I think the first one is still a good effort, but everything I’ve learned since 2014 definitely came into play for the new one. It’s got a sharper look and a different feel.
I didn’t use any stitches I didn’t know three years ago. The only big difference is that I added floral wire (so much floral wire) and used a bottle cap around the emblem. Other than that, it was just putting to work the practice I’ve put in and the patience I’ve learned to frog out occasionally to make something better.
