Project 5 — Reflection 5
I will definitely have to review how to do the paragraph tool as it was confusing me a bit, but the line(?) tool that allows you to add specific styles to highlighted text through one click after making said style is super helpful, especially when experimenting. As I wasn’t sure about text colors/capitalizations in this project, it was helpful to have 2 styles I was able to easily switch between rather than editing the text through multiple buttons.
As mentioned, I’ll have to rewatch the blackboard video about the paragraph tool, but I see how both tools are helpful for project 6.
I also must say that as much as I like the last lamp, I hate how it is not as tall as the others, since it visually distracts from the cohesion of the project in color, size, and shape. Just a minor issue I have but I am too lazy to rewrite everything for a new lamp.

My group had the pleasure of synthesizing information about the Campbell University Fighting Camels. The origin story for the camels is shrouded in mystery, nothing but dubious theories, and they are based in a small town, so this unique mascot might be their only claim to fame in the world’s eye. We almost unanimously agreed to change the animal. Nothing against the camel, but it just is difficult to stylize it in any way that looks serious. Sometimes it skews into horse or kangaroo likeness territory. There is also the racist connotations with the Middle East, which we all want to fully avoid.
I am thinking about the cunning coyote as a replacement. They, like the camel, are known for survival, but are widely present in the Carolinas, unlike the camel. It is also much easier to make something with fangs look fierce. Their howls mark the beginning of a new day. The silhouette would also be more clear from a distance.

Updated draft for the process journal: 12/44 complete
For this project, we as a class were asked to analyze faces, stories, and instances where the two were combined to determine what emotion each was likely expressing. We were then asked to review the data and find trends that may exist. I was tasked with looking at instances 16-18, but you can read the rest of my group’s findings here as well!
