Didn’t hear Cobalt’s latest album when it was released in 2016. Big mistake! After their mainman quit the band their other half expanded their already unique black metal sound and the result is a masterpiece. There are so many things going on in this 84 min trip but it’s totally fucking worth it. Black metal, sludge, hardcore, deranged Tool-like moments, even some pitch-black country/blues at times. Absolutely fantastic album.
