Psssst! Want a sneak peek at our future program plans? 😃😃😃
At our last Teen Advisory Group meeting, I shared some of the supplies I'd recently purchased for our TEENS GET CRAFTY program.
Some of the supplies are things we could use year-round (like rainbow scratch bookmarks, which are ALWAYS in style). Some are season-specific, like sharks during Shark Week, bats during October, and heart-shaped crafts during February.
Since we are one of the libraries that still give out Teen Take-Home Kits, that's another factor to consider when I finalize this schedule. For example, leftover supplies from paper mosaics and mini accordion books can be made into THKs. But any leftover supplies from our instant camera / painting / button-making programs stay here at the branch until the next time we need them. So even when I'm sketching out hypothetical plans months in advance, I make sure that I keep lots of THK options in the mix.
Fun fact: Sometimes I don't have enough of any one item to create an entire set of THKs ... BUT ... sometimes I have little bits and pieces of lots of different supplies. And that's how our Mystery Coloring Project THKs were born!
We generally publish our finalized program plans about three months ahead of time. Check out our website to see the upcoming dates of all of our in-person and virtual teen programs:
