Don't know how else really to say this, but we had to say goodbye to The Professor yesterday. He'd been battling kidney disease a few years, and was diagnosed with large cell lymphoma about a month and a half ago. We were given 12 months on the outside, and were really hoping for 6, but we don't always get what we want.
He made it to 15, which is pretty good for a sensitive lad. Really good considering his mama cat rejected him at birth. He was an amazingly calm, quiet, sweet little man and our family is gonna miss him forever.
Though he was crashing, he went easy (much easier than Dangerclaw) and was pretty ready to go by the end of it. I hope he's with Dangerclaw now, wherever cats go when they leave us. Rest in peace, Jelly Belly.
A lot of you have loved him too over the years. Thanks for sending us your well wishes.
(Yes, my best recent photo is one I took of him being a unicorn with a dropped whisker I put on his head)
