What #behindthescenes🎬 looks like now. In case it can be helpful to anyone here is what being a #professionalmakeupartist requires now. There’s a lot more to this list and it’s only what comes to mind. PS. And working with celebrities now has a lot more requirements than these.... Thanks for the 📷 @martaelenaphoto with the stunning @xoxoaleahh and hair by @grahamnation Here’s my list. 1- Using all disposable tools. That includes spatulas, brushes, sponges, tips, etc. My friends @hmuapax make some great packaged sets catered to #professionalmuas Any brushes must be new or thoroughly washed. I set up a separate section for each model and her brushes get separated and labeled for the day. 2- NO double dipping. Any product used must be new or sprayed with alcohol. Powder products are scraped onto a clean palette and applied from there. Creme products the same. For instance lipstick is cut with a spatula and placed into a little pot which then becomes the lipstick used on the model. 3- Frequent Covid tests. Most “jobs” require you and the talent to show a current test so there are a few “rapid test studio” centers in #LosAngeles that give you the results in 15 min (I’ve had four so far!). 4- Masks of course, face shields while applying makeup and gloves if necessary. 5- Alcohol is used to spray any surfaces and makeup products that have been opened or used. I carry different containers to place all the used product in to be disinfected. 6- Hand sanitizer -make sure it’s at least 60% alcohol (per CDC guidelines) and use it frequently! Wash your hands as much as possible. 7- stay informed. There are many online classes you can take that give you certain certifications tha are useful. #knowledgeispower Again, this is not meant to be a comprehensive list and I will add to it as I think about it.
