House music producer, KSHMR, gives advice on production techniques to make your tracks better.

I liked this video and it inspired me to use this method when I recorded in the studio. As we forgot to book equipment we only had two SM58 microphones so we had to use this technique and the drums didn't sound too bad. I still believe using a drum microphone kit is much better.

I also used this song for my Production Techniques module and I believe that the standard of recording isn't very high. I would have liked more time in the studio although we ran out of time but I am pleased with what I achieved in this song in the amount of time that I gave myself. Next time I think I would spend more time booking equipment and learning how to use them properly.

The vocal microphone used for this album was a Rodee NT1a which is £149.99 which is extremely cheap. The vocals are amazing and crisp and warm and I'm trying to imitate this effect with my C1u.
