Ok, so this may sound like some conspiracy theory, but I was thinking about how the Shifting Mound is mostly white and the Long Quiet is mostly black. Except for ONE thing that's grey. For TSM, that's the dress, and for TQL, that's the arms and legs. The dress symbolizes her main trait, she's always in the basement. For the limbs, he always changes things with his choices. When you get to chapter two, things change. Beast gets darker, symbolizing her thinking that she's a predator, and she must eat. Similar to The Witch, whose dress is white but covered in shadows, she thinks that only one of them can leave unscathed, and that doesn't change.
