For this project, I did it on my RA Tre. Tre is a cheerleader here at Marshall. I wanted to do this project on him because he was the only person I thought I had a lot of access too, since he is my RA. However he wasn’t as available to me. Because cheerleaders have set schedules it was hard for me and Tre to meet according to my availability. Not only am I taking classes here at Marshall but I also have two jobs. So when it came time to meet with Tre and have some type of compromise, it was hard. Another thing the was a struggle for me was when I was interviewing Tre. Because of the location of the interview, it was tough hearing what Tre was saying. With that, along with his heavy West Virginia accent, I decided to do a voice over. So instead of the project coming off as a documentary, it comes more off as a news report, unfortunately. I felt as though this was the best way to handle the situation at hand. I did it because of the background sound and his accent. I could have changed our location but we were under a crunch. (I had to interview him late around 11p.m. after work). However, I could do nothing about his accent. Although my project may not be at the right level excellence, I have a lovely time getting to know more about what Tre does with Marshalls cheerleading team.
