are we all just forgetting the fact that weâve been told multiple times throughout all of this nonsense that Dragons Are Smarter Than Men? this scaly bitch Knew that the seed of conquest and subsequent birthright and lineage planted by Aegon I was what grew into âThe Wheel.â Danyâs levels of identification with her Targaryen ancestry were in flux throughout the seriesâthe heritage of the Targaryen dynasty is one of conquest and violence, of fire and blood. at times it seemed like Danyâs claim to the throne was by virtue of her status as a Targaryen, and at others it seemed like she was intent to completely distance herself from that history of bloodshed. in the end, i think Daenerys realized that she couldnât be (to call on another HBO great) âhalf a Targaryenâ and still rule.
