               to be honest, bede really wasn’t sure who the man was. adults were filtering in and out of the orphanage all the time — and he had long since given up hope of ever being selected to go with them.      ( the caretakers called him a problem child. apparently no one wanted a problem child. ) a result of his apathy was a general disinterest in current events. sure, something about this grownup in particular seemed really important, but so what? bede didn’t care. he’d take one look at him and go puttering off to find someone else. someone nicer, someone less dirty and rough around the edges. whatever. whatever. whatever. 

               but then the other little ankle-biters clamoring for his attention managed to rub bede the wrong way, and he couldn’t just let them have their fun, now could he? no, bede needed to remind them all that he was better than them — and if he couldn’t do it with fists and fury      ( not in front of the adults ) facts would do just as well.

               he hadn’t expected the man to pay attention, much less ask for his name. for a moment, the child’s confidence faltered. ❝ b... ede. i’m bede! ❞ that’s right, he was bede. bede, like the character from the storybook he loved so much.      ( the brave and noble hero who everyone looked up to. ) the thought had him squaring his jaw and puffing up his chest. ❝ i’m bede, and i have the highest grades in my entire class. i even get perfect scores on all my tests. ❞

Jaideep stretched with a content sigh and snuggled against Dhimani. Dhimani always was so comfortable.

The cave seemed to be safe, from what he could feel, as well as the trilling from the little Espeon by his side to validate it. These lands were far stranger than he could ever imagine, especially with so much open area...well, from what he’s been told, anyway.

The legendary resided deep within the cave for the most part since their arrival and he was on guard. With such a wide, open area for Pokemon to thrive, there was bound to be trouble. So when the feline heard something near the mouth of the cave, he was on edge, short fur standing on end but keeping more towards the shadows.

Time seemed to pass by in a flash. Cyrus had barely had time to breathe, and it seemed as though he had said next to nothing to anyone about the completion of a more genuinely useful long term project, yet the next thing he knew, he was travelling to Galar. To meet up with Chairman Rose, no less; Macro Cosmos had been interested in the idea of a Pokemon translator, and turning down the opportunity to let it get out there and be publicly used would have been ridiculously stupid.
