hellooo everyone, ive been wanting to talk about this term i coined called prismorph. it has been a long ass time, but i never quite went into the history of this term and what became of it, and i feel like that needs to be out there.
i coined it about a year or more before this blog was even made, and i believe it is my first term ever, outside of combo flags i made over on r/queervexillology. i posted it on tumblr once before, and then took it down almost immediately after i felt that other labels were too similar (e.g. constelic).
as described in this post, i made this term to describe my experiences as a singlet from what i believed to be due to bpd symptoms, and was very adamant about it being exclusive to singlets since, at the time, i was very much anti-endo and believed that plurality could only be caused by dissociative disorders, so i thought it would be too "invasive" to call it a plural experience. (although i did change the definition to fit anyone who resonated with the term).
but of course, i grew and my views have since then changed. after doing more research on endogenic systems and engaging with the community, i discovered there were plenty of ways to be plural, and ended up finding the term "median", which describes me perfectly. the acceptance of this community is what lead me to my eventual syscovery, so as it turns out, the whole "singlet experience" thing is completely untrue.
and i think it would only be fitting to say that prismorph is now, in fact, an inherently plural experience, regardless of the cause. plurals and singlets alike may still use it, of course, but just remember that it was made by someone who was a plural-in-denial. :)
