Leonard and Theodore McCloud (Leo and Theo)

Age: 20

Height: 5′8″(Leo) and 5′5″ (Theo)

Occupation: Freelance Inventors

Species: Dreamer

Wish: Snap Lightning (Leo) and Burst Thunder (Theo) - Leo can create and manipulate expansive, albeit relatively weak, electric currents. This allows him to lift and move objects, tase enemies, and power machinery. Theo can create small bursts of thunder with powerful enough force to damage objects. He regularly uses this to bend metals and hammer pieces of scrap when inventing. 

this is what moonflower is, though I can't figure out a design I like for their tail so I currently don't draw them with one (this is inaccurate, they are supposed to have one...) they are from the green island in my story along with all the other plant/bug themed races. they are meant to resemble demons in a way, this is mostly because moonflower is my story's main antagonist and I wanted them to parallel iris who is meant to look like an angel. I plant to redesign iris and the other angels to look /less/ like angels at some point, so I don't have to deal with any of the biblical implications... but that is still the original intent..!! and also because moonflower is based off of the devil's trumpet flower, I made this whole race specifically for them LOL

almost all leaflings practice some variation of green magic, AKA plant magic. moonflower gets one of the more fucked up kinds because they're based off of a deliriant drug! though I think other than the basics of magically growing plants for various purposes all leaflings have their own version of green magic directly based on the plant they're actually based off of. for example a plant with medicinal properties would probably have some kind of light healing magic. moonflower gets illusion magic so they can make people hallucinate just like their plant.

leaflings (outside of the ones based off of trees because I decided bark/tree hands would be cooler) leave a pollen residue on whatever they touch, and that pollen has whatever effects the actual plant has. most leafling pollen is harmless, but poisonous plants like the one moonflower is based off of will have dangerous if not lethal pollen. this is why moonflower is always wearing gloves, they don't want to accidentally kill somebody. though all leaflings are immune to any negative effects other kinds of pollen has, so in towns consisting of only leaflings gloves aren't necessary (though it still might be good to wear, it can get a bit messy otherwise)

I imagine the appearance of certain parts of leaflings, mostly their tails and forehead markings, are very specific to what plant they're based off of. there is no one size fits all best tail design for every plant ever, so while some may be the flowers or leaves, others may be based off of other parts of the plant. the only necessary part is that it must be somehow related to what their plant actually looks like. so no generic demon tails, or anything that doesn't look at least a bit plant-like.

I also think leaflings are usually on the taller side. I like the idea of them being a bit menacing up close. something based off of something as cute and dainty as plants and flowers wouldn't usually look intimidating, but in certain situations I think leaflings could look very scary (though they look very cute in the drawing I've attached of them...) they have sharp teeth and very wide eyes, I didn't illustrate it here but I've been playing around with the idea of all leaflings having sharp claws (not just the tree leaflings)..... basically all of them are over 6'0, I imagine moonflower is 6'5. so they can be a bit scary, especially with leaflings like moonflower being able to warp reality with illusions. currently illusions are exclusively produced by certain leaflings, though that may change as I write more races for my story. perhaps I'll illustrate moonflower how I imagine them when they're actually trying to be intimidating to show my point better.

I don't know how I feel about assigning personality traits to certain races, so I haven't done that here. I think saying that certain races in my story are more likely to act certain ways could be weird when looked at from certain perspectives. they're not real, but I don't want to imply different races are genetically predisposed to certain personality traits. yuck...
