Downloaded Photoshop. 3 hours of fumbling along with tutorials later, I think I have a decent bitmap image for my print studios class tomorrow.
I have a couple more image/collage ideas so I'm hoping that what I put in my visual diary helps back up my thought process.
BYO Print Member Spotlight: Christiane Moore
Grown in central Pennsylvania, learned at MICA (earning her BFA in Printmaking), and settled in Fishtown, Philadelphia, Christiane Moore is an artist and textile designer who best loves paint and silkscreen. Â In addition to being a member of BYO Print, Christiane designs for the print studio Printfresh and volunteers her time and artistic skills at the Chenoa Manor Animal Sanctuary. Â Her current work explores the decorative imagery of domesticated plants and animals, as well as their dominion over both our homes and our hearts (as Jon Mooallem's book Wild Ones puts it so eloquently, "They are free-roaming Rorschachs, and we are free to spin whatever stories we want about them. Â The [wild] animals always have no comment.")

BYO Print Member Spotlight: Katie VanVliet
This year Katie VanVliet has been working on a series of manipulated found object sculptures; Tools, Talismans, Totems. Soon, she'll get back into the printshop (her favorite time to bunker down in the printshop is winter), and begin a new series of etchings. Intaglio is her preferred medium in the print studio, as the process of working the plate is so sculptural.

Top Image: Rake, 2015 copper, horsehair, silver, linen Electrical wires were stripped and hammered, then braided like I used to braid my father's ponytail.Â
Middle Image: Insect Net, 2015 copper, brass, plastic, beeswax, quail eggs A copper plumbing pipe was hammered and formed into a frame, and outfitted with produce netting to hold the quail eggs that I found at my grandparents' house.Â
Lower Image: Wire Strippers, 2014-15 silver, brass The handles of plain tea spoons I found in my mother's and grandmother's houses were cut into the shape of wire stripping tools. Can also be used for silverpoint drawing.
BYO Print Member Spotlight: Nomas Print
In 2014, I spent a year making over 10,000 prints in Houston, Texas. It is my ambition as a Printmaker to be constantly making things. It is my way of documenting the passing of time. I take pride in immersing myself in the tradition of hand made goods.Â

BYO Print Member Spotlight: Ellyn Womelsdorf
Ellyn's preferred mediums to work in are etching, screen printing, and ink drawing, and lately she's been working on finding a way to merge them together. Having already found a way to incorporate her other worldly and often colorful ink drawings with the clean black lines and versatility of screen printing, now she is beginning to experiment with the gritty and sometimes gloomy atmosphere of etching with the colorful plumes and clouds of color that she creates in her ink drawings.
