The notes would drift with the lavender scent of a lullaby on their wake, delicate like a silver necklace. And I would dance!
Oh, would I dance. I've never been good at balance but now, as a doll, I move with such a mechanical grace. My leg lifts forward, my toe pointed, allowing moonlight to reflect off of the glaze applied to my formerly-skin. It arcs behind me as I lean forward, my eyes meeting my enraptured recipient's. Raising my hands above my head, I would lower my foot once more and slowly twirl, twirl, twirl. My skirts twirl along with me, an ever-shifting spiral. As my song ends, I would bow, and return to a neutral position. There, I would wait for the next time my key is turned. Still, delicate, elegant, beloved.
