"You’re the reason they’re dead!”
Emma froze in place at the words, her lips parting in a combination of shock and surprise. She stared at the person for a time, before slowly she raised her chin and fully straightened her posture, “You’re right,” she answered, her voice even and calm despite the pounding of her heart.
“I am the reason he’s dead. And you know what else?” She prompted, taking a deep breath, “I’m the one who killed him. He had it coming. He deserved it, and you will never make me feel bad for what I did,” Emma spoke with a conviction that hadn’t been there a few months ago. She spoke with confidence, in both what she was saying and how she felt.
Never again would she let herself feel bad for killing Kai. Never again would she feel remorse..
