Quite random, but recently found the Silverwing cartoon and the book series. Equally am loving both. So have my take on a blend of Goth’s cartoon design and his book design’s description.
Just watched the Silverwing TV series (fun fact Richard Ian Cox voices Orestes) and omg it is SO different from the book. They changed so much it’s not even funny. Here’s a short list of a few things they changed.
-Goth and Throbb are brothers in law
-Throbb doesn’t die half way through
-Orestes is there for some reason (also he’s the nerdy son of General Brutus instead of King Boreal)
-Nocturna is only mentioned by the banded bats in the mountains
-The show ends with bats getting freedom of the skies, that’s how the second book ends
-Goth doesn’t get recaptured by humans
-Romulus and Remus are co-kings instead of Romulus being locked away
-Goth and Throbb speak Spanish sometimes, which like, not technically wrong since they’re from South America, just an odd stylistic choice imo
-Goth is low key pretty stupid
-Bathsheba has a WAY bigger part in the show
-Wolves????
Yeah, there’s some of the most blatant things I noticed. And don’t get me wrong I enjoyed the show, I really did. It’s just that the changes confused me at times. Marina was probably the most accurate to the book.
