Ah yes, a sequel to this drabble XD
Jafar sat on the couch, a book open in his hands, his tired eyes skimming over the words of the same page he had been looking at for the past twenty minutes. He couldnāt sleep, but he couldnāt focus either. Not when Primo had stormed out on their conversation several hours ago.Ā
At worst, Jafar had expected Primo would argue against marriage logically. State the cons and how it was better for them to stay as separate people on paper. Jafar, of course, had been ready for that and had counterpoints at the ready.Ā
What he hadnāt expected was how emotional Primo had gotten, and not in the āIām going to cry, I love you so much baby!!ā way seen all the time in public proposals. Instead, Primo had seemed almost offended that Jafar had proposed at all. How naming them as a āmarried coupleā would only make things more complicated. Jafar saw no logic in his words and before they knew it, the argument had gotten out of hand.
Jafar was shaken out of his thoughts as the front door creaked open. He put down his book and stood up as Primo slowly shuffled in. Their eyes locked immediately.
āWhere were you?ā Jafar asked, fighting to keep the bite out of his tone.Ā
āOut,ā Primo shrugged, swaying on his feet.
āYeah.ā Primo nodded, then closed the door behind himself. āLook, Jafarā¦ā He started, stepping closer, his words slurring slightly. āLetās fucking do it. Letās get married.ā
While the tension eased from Jafarās shoulders, he rolled his eyes.Ā
āYouāre drunk,ā he repeated, reaching out to slip an arm around Primoās shoulders. They took their time walking to their bedroom.Ā
āI mean it, Jafar. You are right. Iām sorry I said those things.ā
āApologize to me in the morning.ā Jafar sighed. āAnd for what itās worth, I am sorry too.ā
Jafar carefully sat Primo down on the edge of the bed; he kneeled before him to help him out of his shoes. He could feel Primoās gaze on him, intense but familiar. Once Primo was dressed down to his underwear, Jafar slipped under the covers with him so they were facing each other.Ā
āI really mean it. Letās get married. You can change your name to Jafar Nizzuto, if you want.ā
Jafar smiled at him in the dark.
āI wouldnāt go that far. Weāll talk about it more in the morning.ā
