Also the areas with most polluting industries are developing (or new) economies in much of the global south. If you shut them down people will starve to death.
The problem isn’t production of commodities its the management and distribution of the production of commodities by capital. Industrys such as industrial agriculture exist because of the vast populations that exist today and any form of socialism would need to stabilise and keep them running in any form of transition else people will starve.
And subsistence farming is impossible on a scale of current world populations. Any future is urban not a return to rural feudalism based on who has the best fucking soil.

I hate the fact that our current hierarchical society says i must do what people tell me to or listen to people who think that they are more important than me. Though, when it boils down to it, they are made of the same cells, blood, shit, water and inherited defects as i am. I mean seriously, why should i go to work and pay taxes? why can i not do what people have been doing for thousands of years before me and live in unity with nature, gathering my own food and hunting when i need to feed myself. I hate the fact that i will never be able to do that, no matter how hard i try, without being labeled an outcast to society, even by those who feel that they already are... I hate society.
