Hello tumblr, it's been a long time. Behold my bastard son.
Speaking of the creature, we had a very short jaunt this weekend to a local creek. I originally wanted to take her wading, and my dad was going fishing, but some dude also showed up to fish on this very short stretch of accessible shoreline and my dad and I hate people so we left. The water was too low for fish anyway. It was a good depth for the dog to scramble around in the rocks, though, because when you're a Shikoku choosing precarious slippery footing over getting your ankles wet is a sensible, obvious thing to do. She jumped clear back to the bank after I snapped this, yet again choosing acrobatics over I dunno, walking??
Myst won 3 minor puppy of breed and a bitch challenge this weekend

Yakko, the Kai Ken, at Yamabushi Kennel
A terrible quality picture of Tivah the Canaan Dog ft. his handsome but rather unsettling murder face. Guess who didn’t pack the right camera lens before heading out to petsit for Thanksgiving? Whoops!
Cutie <3 she only knows Russian commands, so I'll be starting from scratch with her training (since I prefer my dogs all respond to the same cues)
