Dim Sum with a Revolving View
We recently went to Prima Tower (just beside St James Power Station) for a 3-in-1 birthday lunch (for my little niece, my dad and myself!). The restaurant didn't look like it ever changed since the last time I went there, which was probably over a decade ago. Beside it is the Prima flour mill which is still in operation, and yes, the Prima Group owns similarly-named products like Prima Taste and PrimaDeli.
Prima Tower is one of the two (I think?) revolving towers in Singapore. I think I felt a little giddy when I first went up to the revolving platform — then again, it could have been psychological. On a random note, we saw Moses Lim dining with his family!
Typeface so old school, it's cool.
We had dim sum there, and it was pretty good. Prawns were pretty fresh, and they had xiao long baos too, which were quite addictive. I judge my xlbs based on the ratio of skin thickness to breakage probability – the best would be those with paper-thin skins AND which survive my voracious kiap-ing with my chopsticks without spilling a drop. This one passed the test with flying colours!
The whole revolving of the restaurant took about 1 to 1.5 hours, which was about the time we finished our meal. The scenery changed from Sentosa to Harbour Front to the Keppel area. Pretty gimmicky, but the kids loved it.
