Need to get something out of my head because it's sorting-related and making me sad: "Weight of the World" by Amalee is giving me *mad* exploded Badger primary vibes
I’m actually getting burnt secondary vibes. To me this seems like a song about screaming into the void - about working and praying and yelling and making no progress, feeling like nobody hears you.
“My cries are inconspicuous” “We're going to shout it loud / Even if our words seem meaningless.” “It's like I'm carrying the weight of the world.” “Maybe if I keep believing my dreams will come to life.” “No matter how hard I pray / Signs of warning still remain / And life has become my enemy.”
It makes me think of Boxer from Animal Farm. Every time he comes up against any obstacle, he just says I will work harder.
This song also has a fighting-with-God angle to it.
Tell me God, are you punishing me? Is this the price I'm paying for my past mistakes? This is my redemption song. I need you more than ever right now Can you hear me now?
The Speaker feels like God is punishing them, but isn’t sure ... why? Or even if they really are being punished? Because they’re also worried that God is ignoring them? And they’re trying atone... for this wrong that they may or may not have committed?
And then there’s this part a little bit later -
I wish that someway, somehow That I could save every one of us But the truth is that I'm only one girl
On its own, this is very Burnt Badger primary, but in the context of the song... I’m thinking it might be a little more - “I am being asked to do this impossible thing, and then I punished for it when I fail.” Which - ouch. If I were to put that idea in terms of the SHC system, I would say that sounds like an unhealthy primary model. You are trying to be this impossibly Good Lion/Badger... and beating yourself up when you (inevitably) fall short.
