I’m not the best at drawing rocks, but the picrew helped me with concepts so much.
Information about them under the cut so I don’t clog your feed: some repeated from art since my handwriting isn’t amazing.
They tend to go by they/them
They were named Star because their patterns reminded Grace of Starry Night the painting.
They love stories of all kinds and especially loves it when Grace sits down to talk about constellations or fairy tales from earth. Their favorite is Orion the Hunter.
They’re very curious. They ask a lot of questions. They love to explore.
If they’re not talking, you can usually find them singing soft little songs they make up.
They’re an artist, it’s the one time they’re genuinely quiet aside from sleeping.
They use drilling tools to draw since they can’t see color. They use the different depths to shade. Grace has at least one piece on a shelf in his dome.
They collect small things they like. They’re picky with their collection, it can’t be just anything.
They often steal small things when they visit Grace because the human things interest them.(Grace hasn’t seen his fox figure in weeks!)
The other Eridians already had to kick them out of the Hail Mary while it was being repaired after Star insisted that they had to have Graces old pens because they liked the clicking noise.(Grace gave them his dead pens after that)
Kept stealing Graces bags to carry things they collected(or stole from the ship/his dome. Grace eventually sat down and attempted to sew them their own bag so they’d stop stealing his.(He’d seen his mom sew…Once…Rocky yelled at Grace later for pricking his fingers multiple times.)
They carry the star shaped bag around like a prize. They love every mistake. Said they understand why humans leak when they’re happy(Happy tears) because they’d be doing it.
The bag is usually full of odd rocks they find or the small things Grace never noticed missing.(Or pretended he didn’t notice)
Often tries to bring Grace items to look at since he’s a scientist. Sometimes not the safest things and Rocky usually stops them before they can introduce something harmful to Graces environment. (“No no! Bad! Will hurt Grace! Grace doesn’t want it!”)
Sometimes they sneak in the occasional harmful item thinking they’re helping and Grace immediately puts it into a containment unit for Rocky to take back outside when Star leaves. (“See? Grace wanted the material. Rocky had nothing to worry about. Grace said thank you and put it somewhere important :D” Cue Rocky frantically coming in as soon as they leave to take it from Grace)
Once Grace told them about hugs they started hugging everyone. Grace loves it, the other Eridians tolerate it.
Star isn’t the brightest and usually gets distracted very easily. (There’s so many things to explore!)
(BloodyMary extra, Simon tries to learn their songs to sing with them. They don’t have the heart to tell him that it’s not that good)
May add more later? This is just what I’d imagined while trying to draw them. They’re honestly free to draw if you think your OC would hang out with them. I’m not sure how much more I’ll draw of them since rocks aren’t my strong suit, but I may post little scenes I imagine them in that I would draw if I had more motivation.
