"Before going on a turntable little James. The Fat Controller doesn't want you to waste time and steam by playing roundabouts, you know?" Teased Gordon as he heard the wind blowing fiercely and remembered the time James spun around the turntable like a top toy and chuckled at his wit in the process.
âYou call me a little James and Iâm not. And if I wanted to âplayâ on the roundabouts I would -- youâre making fun of me, arenât you?â
@pridefulbigengine replied to your post âSaddest part of your life?â
"It's no wonder why Henry would call you a 'Poor Old Groaner'."
âI donât remember asking for your feedback, Gordon.â
Alignment, Grudge and Kin
A-Z HEADCANONS FOR MY CHARACTERS
What would be their D&D alignment? How might it come into play?
Iâd place Henry squarely in Lawful Good territory. He always tries to be responsible, reliable, and useful- he idealizes and actively aims to fulfill everything an engine should rightfully be. He might occasionally act ill tempered, self-centered or cowardly, but in spite of that, he has an overwhelmingly solid record of playing by the rules, caring deeply about the people, places and causes he loves, and respecting the figures of authority and influence in his life. When it comes down to the wire, he really does his best to be his best. And this only gets more evident as one gets to know him better.
How bad does an insult go over? Do they hold a grudge long?
Like most engines, Henry has a very healthy sense of pride, and as a literal representative of the railway he calls home, he holds this pride in high esteem. Insults are met with the indignation one would expect, and in some cases, hostility in kind. Though it isnât difficult to make Henry back down- and in the case that the insult hits just a little to close to home, may result in a bout of defensive insecurity.
Henry isnât known for holding grudges.. But he does have a long memory. If you truly hurt him, heâs unlikely to trust you too deeply. Likewise, if you show him kindness, he wonât forget it.
Whatâs their role among their relations? Do they consider others family?
Of course he does! Despite their rivalries and disagreements over the years, Henry considers his fellow engines on Sodor to be his closest friends, and in some cases, quite like family.
Being an experimental model that was not mass produced, he doesnât have ârelativesâ like Gordon or Thomas. But he doesnât really mind- his friends are all the family he needs.

Gordon snorted over Henry's suggestion of sneezing to clear his tubes because of the coal. "The Fat Controller would never approve it." He said. "Besides I rememeber that he didn't like your sneeze at all and he forbid you to ever do it again."
âWell- wellâ! I donât see how itâs your business what the Fat Controller says to me anyway.â Henry replied tartly, letting off some of his rising frustration via a jet of steam. âMaybe youâd change your tune, were you on my tracks.â
