a very unusual borg?
When I was about 16 I had a major crush on Tim Burton’s movies. Mostly the old ones (90s era). I was and still am very fond of many of them. My favourite is definitely Edward Scissohands. Actually, it may be one of my favourite movies in general. Such a weird fairytale... Anyway, I thought that Edward is somehow similar to Data. They both are androids, both try to fit in, both may be seen as autism representation in media, both are so curious and innocent and both were mistreated by society. That’s why I decided to make a quickie with both of them. I guess that in ST universe Edward would be mistaken for a Borg due to his attire hence the title.
If Edward was found by Enterprise crew I believe he’d find brother in Data. Geordi would probably try to fix his hands, but for some reason I think it’s impossible. The scissors are tangled with his neural network or something. Eventually, Edward, instead of changing himself to be like the others, would stay exactly as he is, with scissorhands cause that’s what makes him who he is. He’d finally fully own his disability and would find himself rejecting any possibility of being fixed. Such solution seems to be wholesome somehow. It’s 24th century and you can be who you are if it suits you, if it’s a part of you. You don’t need to change.
