Hey! I’m a bit confused and I’ve got a few questions—what’s the difference between the due date and the preview date/Do I have to have my story done by the 10th? And is the 4000 word count minimum flexible, or does it absolutely have to be over 4K? Just wanted to be sure. Thank you!!
No no no, Preview Day is not the due date, heavens, no! You still have a lot of time, don’t worry.
Preview Day is the day where artists will be able to see all the story details (summary etc.) so they can decide which story they want to make art for. You do not have to have the story finished by then, the actual Due Date is on January 31st, and even that’s flexible. The only thing we need from writers right now is the basic information about the story, for which an email with a submission form was sent out.
As for the word count, yes, it needs to be at least 4000 words. We thought long about it because we weren’t really sure where to set the minimum (most big Big Bangs have it at 20K, 50 or even 80K) and we didn’t want to make it too low. (We definitely didn’t want to make it too high either, though, because we felt like people would feel insecure or unsure then.) I hope you understand. x)
