My friend started streaming a randomised Pokemon Fire Red playthrough, so I decided to make them an extra cute custom trainer sprite set! I think they turned out really nice, and it was also really cool how much I learned when referencing the existing extremely skilled pixel work.
I also needed to clone the amazing Pokemon Fire Red Decompilation project and learn how to use it, which was super cool. My efforts to mod pkmn type information into the box screen (very helpful when types have been randomised) didn't go very well, but I did learn just enough C (with lots of help from another friend) to attempt make an improvement to the repo's palette conversion utility so it could handle unix and dos line endings. It works but I think I need to learn a little more C to get the pull-request accepted....
