Pressure Washing your Patio
Using a pressure washer is an effective means of removing built-up grime, slime and debris from a patio, including one made of brick, pavers, concrete or even wood. Although often a pressure washer can be used without additives of any sort, adding a pressure washer floor attachment or a surface pressure washer attachment is best when pressure washing flat surfaces.
Here are some basic steps on pressure washing your patio with a surface pressure washer attachment:
- Clear the patio completely, moving lawn furniture, umbrellas, pots, plants and other decorations from its surface and out of the way. Scatter cat litter, also called cat box filler, to soak up spills, oil, grease or other liquid on the patio surface. Wait until the liquid is gone. Sweep or vacuum up the cat litter.
- Determine whether or not to use a pressure washer detergent to remove stains from your patio. Choose the detergent type based on whether you use a hot-water or cold-water pressure washer. Apply the detergent to the patio surface, or pour it into the detergent chamber of your pressure washer, depending on which type of pressure washer you use. Wait 10 minutes before spraying the patio with pressure washer water if you poured detergent onto the patio.
- Attach the pressure washer surface cleaner on your pressure washer. Start pressure washing your patio by using broad, sweeping motions to cover the entire patio surface, back and forth in one direction and then another direction
- Focus on areas of dirt and grime buildup.
- It is important to keep the surface cleaner moving to ensure an even cleaning pattern
This surface cleaner attachment provides professional-grade cleaning with its double-spinning nozzle design. This attachment is 15 in. in diameter which covers more area than the standard pressure washer nozzle. And, because of the double-spinning nozzle design, it effectively uses less water.
