Trois idées ont motivé ce rapprochement de deux univers :

• Le développement des startups est riche d’enseignements pour les entreprises en place – Nouer des liens avec des entrepreneurs est une 1ère étape dans la compréhension de la transition numérique et dans l’appréhension des menaces, comme des opportunités, pour les entreprises en place. L’éducation des grandes entreprises fait partie des missions de TheFamily.

• Le succès des entreprises en place dans la transition numérique est une condition de l’épanouissement des startups – Si les entreprises en place refusent d’affronter la transition numérique, alors cette transition va s’exercer contre elles et va servir les intérêts des entreprises les plus capitalisées issues des écosystèmes les plus dynamiques. À l’inverse, si nos grandes entreprises entament leur transition, leurs intérêts peuvent alors s’aligner avec ceux des startups locales et permettre de trouver leur place dans une filière profondément transformée. • Enfin, les startups et les grandes entreprises ont beaucoup de choses à faire ensemble – Pour les startups, les grandes entreprises peuvent être des investisseurs, des acquéreurs, des plateformes de ressources difficiles d’accès dans les filières dont la transition commence à peine. Pour les grandes entreprises, les startups sont un gisement inépuisable de talents, de technologies numériques de pointe, de connaissance intime du marché et des consommateurs et, surtout, de la dynamique entrepreneuriale qui, dans l’économie numérique, départage les perdants et les gagnants.
