The passing of the gun bill tasted bitterly, even to Silas who actually had no personal feelings about the issue. But the fact that this bill, which should have been easily shot behind the barn in the Senate, had managed to pass, was further proof to him about the incompetency of the Republicans. Heâs been watching this circus of idiots for over a decade. Those fucking morons had even thought to believe that it was better for him not be in this race. So be it. That didnât mean he was going to sit it out entirely. He was a little, but not too surprised, by the invitation to the White House. Evidently his filibuster had managed to get someoneâs attention. It was a formidable show, even if it hadnât managed to crush the bill. Of course, Silas had accounted for that possibility; he would look like the sole defender of the rights of the American people as the Democrats tried to take them away. A perfect set-up for someone to consider choosing him as their running mate. Or rather, for everyone to be eyeing him as the perfect partner. Heâs all smiles as he was led into the Oval Office and the fact was that it wasnât all a facade. He couldnât help but a feel an ounce of gleeful pride to be invited here. âMr. President,â he greeted amicably, because despite how hard heâs railed against the bill, he doesnât really hold ill will against the man before him. âIf all it took was to break a filibuster record to get an invitation then I would have done it much sooner.â He doesnât beat around the bush; he knew exactly why he was here. He had merely done what he did best: making himself a thorn in peopleâs sides.Â
