#present exchange

“Perfect,” Shokrakar smiled as he looked down at the roughly wrapped gift. It was wrapped in brown paper and held together with a bright red bow. The edges of the paper were jagged and uneven but he really tried his best to make it look good, and to him, it did, so that was good enough. Everyone at Skyhold had been doing gift exchanges, he had done his usual and knitted everyone a hat or a scarf, but for Krystal, he wanted it to be special. They had become close since the beginning of the Inquisition and felt close to her than anyone else.

Krystal also had a special place in her heart for Shokrakar, and had gotten him a gift too. She did struggle, she wasn’t sure if he even celebrated the holiday, so it at first started with whether or not to get him anything, and then when she did finally decide to get him something, she struggled with what to get. She wanted it to be something nice, something that when she gave it to Shokrakar, his eyes would light up and he wouldn’t be able to contain the smile from showing on his face. It may have taken a while, but the gift she settled on, she loved and thought Shokrakar would too.

They both decided to meet in the tavern to exchange their gifts, and also share a drink and a laugh. Krystal’s gift looked a lot neater than Shokrakar’s, still wrapped in brown paper but held together with a pink bow, Shokrakar’s favourite colour, it was similar to the one she used to wrap Bull’s present. Shokrakar had found them a small table in the corner and had gotten them both a drink. He waved Krystal over with a large smile.

“Krys!” He shouted. 

“Hey!” Krystal smiled and made her way over to him, sitting down opposite him. She placed the gift down on the table next to Shokrakar’s. “Is that for me?” She asked with a grin.

“It is!” Shokrakar replied cheerfully, and pushed it a little closer to her. “And is that for me?” He knew it was, he was already pulling the gift closer to him.

“Of course,” Krystal nodded. “I hope you like it.”

They both began to unwrap their presents. “Oh...Maker…” Shokrakar whispered softly. Krystal had gotten Shokrakar a small plush nug with wings, one of the one Krem made. It looked just like Daisy. “Oh! I love it!” He pulled it into his chest and hugged it tightly, giving it a small nuzzle.

“I’m so glad you do!” Krystal felt her heart fill with joy when she saw how happy Shokrakar was with his gift. Krystal opened her gift, pulling the paper away. “Oh, Shok, this must have taken you hours…” She pulled the gift out, it was a large, warm, knitted, blanket. One that would button up so Krystal could stay warm when walking around Skyhold. She stood up and draped it around her shoulders, buttoning it up. “It’s so warm!”

Shokrakar smiled brightly, still holding his nug plush to his chest. “Do you really like it?”

“I love it!” Krystal nodded quickly. “It’s adorable and practical! And not too long!”

Shokrakar let out a small laugh. “Merry Christmas, Krys.”
