Relationship in Reflection
Only 2 days later, there will be different time path. 2016 is going to be changed to be 2017, one new year with new hopes and new stories. Randomly, when I was studying English for IELTS test, I got some inspirations (I wrote it when the internet connection went down, so nothing I can do since the modules are online based). After I got those inspirations, I realized that I was so naive to interpret the meaning of relationship. Yeah, people relationship. Hahha, what I’ve said? It is random right? It’s very random thought, surely to be honest. Maybe it was happened because I was living alone at home when all of my family members in Depok went to Surabaya to spend the end of the year there. I through some reflecting moments and make me know that living alone is terrible, horrible, deeply bad, and sad :( You have to try it so you can feel it.
Okay, back to the topic: Relationship. Before I wrote this, I just said “Yeah, love is a lie and until now I never met someone that I really admire on or fell for so I think living alone is better for me. It is badly hard to compromise with other person who has the different head”. I believed that share our life to other individual is really complicated because I have the clear vision about my future. I was headstone and afraid to think that my dream should be changed and divided because I need to envisage the spouse’s dream. So, why I have to do that? I can live with myself since I am fulfilled with everything I have now, (thankfully I have an understanding, warm, and great family). Furthermore, I ever said “Life with myself along the lifetime, why not?” (OMG, I just find it so naive now)
Firstly, people have own right to make decisions for their life. But being alone for the entire life is not a simple decision. A quote in SausKacang (a film starred BCL and Ashraf Sinclair taken place in Bali) said “Forever is very long duration, it takes time a whole of your life not just a day”. I completely agree with that point since I know the feelings to live alone at home for 2 weeks :”) I just notice that people must to meet someone to live with because no one can be totally independent. For example, when you live alone (without spouse), keep in your mind that you still have your surroundings like neighbors or society. People were born to be social creatures not be individualistic/selfish. Secondly, the worries to share life and dream at the future can’t be the strong reason for people to reject relationship. The previous solution that I chose was to marry foreigner (re:bule) because I believe that they more open minded and flexible with the wants and decisions that their spouse made. Now, I rethink, instead of build my own dream and he does the same, why we do not build the same ships together? Just be focus on person who has the same (or similar) visions to make the goals easier to achieve. Two heads are better than one, right? The last point is you don’t have to marry or make relationship only with the one you admire or fell in love for. Love is process and it’s impossible to find the mates who are perfectly matched, people have their positive and negative side as you are. So, the key is the trust and tolerance, just accept him/her as they are as he/she does for you.
All in all, I just want to tell everyone who read this writing that live alone is strongly not recommended. Every single human in the world has their own mate and they need to make effort to find that one in billion people in the world. No pain, no gain. Someone priceless needs determination to get so that you can’t easily to leave it. Keep moving to make yourself better and meet him/her in the best version of both of you. Cheers and Happy 2017 New Year! :)
At least, I try to make one of writing task 2 although using my own essay question, more than 250 words, and wrote not in academic way (the slang words are spread around here and there) wkkwk
