How many frames in a Precure transformation?
I tried searching this online, but couldn't find any results in English OR Japanese. So I tried to figure it out myself.
Obviously the frame rate is different for different transformations, but I'm talking about the REALLY smooth ones like Cure Sky or Cure Nyammy.
I slowed down Cure Nyammy's transformation to around 5% of its original speed and counted the frames per second, which was 24. Makes sense, since most anime is technically animated at 24 frames per second, just it's usually done on twos or threes instead of actually drawing 24 separate frames. There's a GIF making tool I've used that also analyzes the frames per second and usually says it's around 28. But that might also include the CG effects, which I'm not counting. Anyway, since I counted 24, let's say it's 24.
Precure transformations range anywhere from 0:30 to 2:17, but most solo transformations are a little over a minute, so let's go with 70 seconds for our example. 24×70 is 1680.
So... over 1500 frames, give or take. That's... a lot for just one person to do. Because generally only one person is credited with an entire transformation, right? Or do other people help with the in between frames and just not get credited for it?
