Here’s a picture of me, Linda, Matthew and Linda’s beautiful mom Delores. We all looked happy here but today was another story. Today we said goodbye to mom for the very last time as she was laid to rest following a losing battle with Covid. She was a sweet, devout and kind soul who probably never used a curse word in her life and both Linda and I were deep in tears by the end of the ceremony at the gravesite. God we’ll miss you mom, but now you can be with dad. Faith in Action | Rosemary’s Story —/- About a month ago my mom woke up with partial vision in one eye. It was as if someone pulled a shade down over half her field of vision in her right eye. That’s pretty scary if you ask me but you don’t know my mom. See (no pun intended) she got up out of bed, didn’t panic, made an appointment with a retina specialist and was seen that day once they realized she still had partial vision. Mom didn’t panic because she knew God was with her. I was there when the doctor told her he was going to reconnect the optic nerve and restore her vision. Hope flowed through our veins. The next day she had surgery and all went according to plan. Fast forward a month, recovery is underway and field of vision regained but vision is blurry. At her last appointment, the doctor now mentions she will most likely never see clearly out of that eye again and it will most likely happen to the other eye — this was a shock. My mother again is steady with the news and affirms her faith in God by asking if there’s anything else he can do — he says, “Nothing.” So she says, “Well then God will take over from here” and thanks God out loud for the vision she has. Throughout this whole experience she’s been thanking God for what He’s blessed her with. I truly believe it’s gratefulness like hers that tugs at our Creator’s heart to work miracles. It already performed one in my heart by showing me what true faith is all about. Lord, today our mom shall undergo surgery to repair her femur fracture. As it is a major one, we know that our mom will be feeling anxious and worried. Let Your presence be felt, comforting and assuring her before surgery. We commit her into Your hands and ask that You watch over her before, during and after the procedure. Please direct and guide the hands and minds of the medical team assigned to do the surgery today. We pray that the team will perform their tasks perfectly and precisely respectively, with a focused mind attuned to Your command. We pray that our mom will be healed fast and soon, after the surgery and she will continue to proclaim Your goodness, grace and mercy. We lift up our prayers to You, Lord. All these we ask in Your mighty Name, Amen! #prayformom
