Simple Temples
Here in a barren space, the rocks rise up: They stand on end, towering over those beneath, Who look up and see the ordered heavens, A pious delight of unrivaled majesty.
The architects knew the plans, Drew them forth from their minds. No time for pencil and paper, chalk and board, They set to work, their task bold and true.
There is no glory these stones cannot touch, No eye they cannot draw toward awe. The craft of those who built this place Is inaccessible to all but the most visionary.
I praise the eye that saw the potential, The hand that found the perfect stone, The ear that listened to the earth below, And the curiosity that formed its structure.
Simple temples, lifted to the heavens by children, Scrape the sky of our imagination. They open portals to new worlds and deep Awen, And remind us new eyes are the key to sight.
