So, this blog has historically prided itself on orchestrating elaborate April Fool’s Day pranks (#pranquis, for the uninitiated). But the last few years have seen a dearth of time on my part to create and deploy a good April Fool’s Pranquis, and for that I wish to apologize.

Cranquis (answers phone at work area 2): Ahoy hoy.
Front desk secretary: Oh, hi doc, um, I was trying to reach Dr McColleague?
Cranquis: Oh yeah, he was sitting here this morning, but he moved down to area 4 after lunch.
Secretary: ok, bye.
Cranquis: Bye.
Cranquis runs down the hall to area 4, shoves Dr. McColleague out of the way and answers the phone: Ahoy hoy.
Secretary: Hi Doct-- Wha-? How did-?
Cranquis: Please hold for an important call from Dr. McColleague.
Cranquis hands phone off and saunters away: (whistling)
Behind the medic: conference food can kiss my asthma
So much for the promised “vegetarian option”… 5 roasted mushrooms and peppers on a stick = guess I’ll be eating lunch from the vending machine.

Hmm -- well, the timing does look suspicious, I suppose? But I don't know what I could say or do to prove that it's NOT an April Fools' joke?
On the other hand... if you are seriously planning to traveling an unspecified distance to an as-yet-to-be-revealed location to possibly see a person that you met online (without knowing his (her?) real identity) -- I'm not sure I can stop you at this point.

Just warning you not to laugh too much if I'm wrong, but is the conference in Biloxi, Mississippi? It fits the number clue...
I can neither confirm nor deny at this time. :)
