Extraordinary PPSMB ā16
Welcome, persona gratas, to this random yet messy blog of mine! *woohooooo!!*
Now let me introduce myself in my first post because well oh well I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO EDIT THE āABOUT MEā PAGE so bear with me for I am a noob. Also if you can help me with editing that thing then please do teach me, Iām stil confused about tumblr stuff. This is gonna be a long ass post but hey, why not make it long, right? I like long stuff. c:
My name is Cecilia, and Iām currently 18 years old. A maniac of Harry Potter and the importance of never being late. Iām a freshman of the best university in Indonesia which isssss : Universitas Gadjah Mada! That clarification isnāt just coming out of my ass, UGM really is the best univ in here according to the 4icu.org (just to reassure). Iām studying law in this international undergraduate program (IUP) where some lecturers are so hard to understand when theyāre lecturing. I bet youād have the same problem too when youāre listening to people speaking English with very thick Javanese accent but maybe soon enough, Iāll get used to it. But lately in class Iāve been just staring at their faces trying my hardest to just... sigh whatever. Thank God thereās only like 5% of that among the lecturers, or else, Iām doomed.
Before the class actually began, we had this campus orientation where we got shitload of work to do about the university itself, and do activities in campus for a full week, and then on the last day, weād make a formation, just like the years before us. Turned out the work actually helped a lot knowing about the university, Iām so glad I didnāt just cheat. *coughs* The orientation is called PPSMB which stands for āPelatihan Pembelajar Sukses bagi Mahasiswa Baruā. Our theme this year is āBERBUDAYA, BERSEMANGAT, BERSINERGI DALAM HARMONI!ā *clap!*
They separated us into different groups and what we called as āgugusā. There are 2 kinds of orientation, university one and the faculty one. Our first day was awesome, since so many people were there, there were even parachutists to welcome us to this university. It was unforgettable. We were put in the Grha Sabha Pramanaās field where we had undesirable sunbath. The seats were arranged in some squares and it was tight af so I got butt cramps a lot, I think I might have kicked the person in front of me 3 times when I tried to put my feet into comfortable positions in order to watch the attractions better. Iāll just drop a link here, and itās only about the parachutists because they havenāt posted the full opening ceremony : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FaZq9ge4jrQ
The first and second day were filled with making new friends from other faculties, playing games, getting to know our facilitators and other fun stuff. Those 2 days were spent with happiness and sweat of struggle bcs I FRIGGIN WALKED FROM JAKAL TO THE GODDAMN FACULTY OF MEDICINE and everytime I got into the class, my shirt was wet. That was so far for me who rarely walked before. I probably looked like an exhausted piece of sausage with ponytail, wearing UGMās almet, dragging its feet on the sides of GSP with an older lady walking beside it from the distance. Thatās my mom who insisted on walking with me till the outer gate of GSP to āminimize the chance of me getting kidnappedā. Not my proudest moment.
Then came the 3rd and 4th day which were the facultyās orientation. There were some people with black shirts walking around putting on their sour faces. Theyāre called the Auditors, which are the people who checked on our previous works and made sure we didnāt do plagiarism. They didnāt talk normally, heck some of them didnāt even talked. I once asked where my group was and she just pointed at some direction. Compared to our facilitators, they seemed antagonistic. We spent those 2 days with talk shows, knowing the SO/LSOās and getting snapped at by the Auditors and the end of the first day because some works didnāt meet the criteria and some did plagiarism (fools). When they walked into the room, everybody was quiet and the Auditors just kept on saying that they were disappointed with us. Thank God I didnāt get called on :DD They seemed so angry and pissed all the time but then on the last day, the MCs were introducing all the facilitators and everything. Of course we clapped and laughed and everything because they were funny and nice, then when the Auditors came, everybody went silent again.
āWhat? So if we come into the room, you guys are quiet?ā said the Head. Some people clapped, some gave a standing ovation but then she told us to be quiet.
āWe just want to say that we are disappointed-ā oh not again.
āSo like, only the facilitators are being introduced?!ā she said, finally laughing. We had NEVER ever seen any of those black shirts smile, let alone laugh. So we just laughed as they just took off their seriousness and scary faces and we just apologized to each other and stuff. Iām so very glad thereās no seniority in campus, Iāve had enough of that in high school.
I forgot the 5th day bcs it was soft skill stuff and the closing day was absolutely awesome. We made formation of the United Nations and we made human LED. Usually, each generation would just make one formation for every one year, but this year, we made 5. We made that UN stuff and also the previous formations of generations above us. Iād share you this : https://youtu.be/UvgIH4fpVTU The official full PPSMB one isnāt out yet so.. yeah :/
Itās been a great experience and surely is unforgettable. Iām proud to be the part of this huge family.
So thatās it I guess, maybe Iāll post more stuff like this because I have no other platform of sharing writings, even though my writings are random. Idk if anybody would ever read this far but if you do, then thanks c: JUST LIKE IT OKAY I WANNA BE LIKED. PLEASE.
Okay, bye, have a good day amazing people! ^^
