Okay, the situation he is currently in wasn’t entirely Seth’s fault. All he did was point out to a couple of vamps that maybe it wasn’t a good idea to drain a whole bunch of girls that they pulled off the street. Apparently that was their cue to make him their next meal. So here he was, running for his life through the streets in East Village.
Air rushed in and out of his lungs, his long black air was whipping behind him, his heart felt like it was close to beating out of his chest, and his whole body felt like it was charged with static electricity. He tried getting the vamps off his trail, or at least slow them down so he could make a proper escape. Conjure up some mist to mask his retreat, force a dumpster into their path, all attempts were foiled. He didn’t have the time, or frankly the energy, to conjure up anything more advanced like and invisibility spell. Plus they would still be able to smell him. And fighting back would probably end badly too. Combat magic wasn’t exactly his forte. Well, it is...but not without a decent amount of property damage.
He could hear them getting closer, the snarling and hissing sounded like they were right on top of him. Just as he was about to round a corner, something shot out of the shadows, grabbing the front of his shirt, and slamming him into a brick wall. The force was enough to cause stars to dance in his vision, leaving him off kilter for a moment. Then that grip moved from his shirt to his neck, lifting him off the ground, constricting his airways. Gasping, he grabbed at the hand that was choking him, trying to pry it off. He would’ve tried to conjure some magic to get the vamp to drop him, but he was A) to exhausted and B) to busy trying not to die of asphyxiation. But that seemed like a waste since it looked like he was going to die anyway.
“Now I’m glad we gave the little witch a run. All that adrenaline...” The one that was choking him chuckled. As Seth’s vision started fading out, he managed to see the vamp lean in towards his neck.
