This is from when my husband called me over because my favorite droid was onscreen. Ever since I was 10 and first saw #StarWars I’ve had a love for the unsung #PowerDroid - also lovingly nicknamed the #gonkdroid or the “box droid” as I called it. Their little shuffle is as endearing as any porg, and I was so happy to see them make an appearance in #TheMandalorian. That series was just incomparable. The cast was spectacular and absolutely flawless. I loved Nick Nolte’s quiet nobility as #Kuiil the #Ugnaught. They don’t waste tons of time on exposition - you are just in the world seeing things unfold. The gritty, lived-in feel is absolutely perfect and brings you back to the way the original trilogy felt. There was a joy to it, a naturalism, that shows how much @jfavs, #davefiloni, #christopheryost, and #rickfamuyiwa - not to mention spectacular directors @brycedhoward and @taikawaititi - love and understand what made the original series special. And it showed just how much more magical and tactile practical effects make things feel. #BabyYoda would never have felt so vulnerable and real if he’d been CGI. Thanks to all these people for making this special series - it was a moment of delight in this maddening world. #mandalorian #droids #thisisthedroidimlookingfor #starwarsuniverse https://www.instagram.com/p/B68Vt0OAvRW/?igshid=1r135myxfq75
