Sometimes you find something so super neat and cheap that you need to have it even if you really don't have the time for it.
I found the fiberglass body for a 1957 Powercar Thunderbird Jr for $100. Originally this would have been a very high-end electric kids toy that was made to match that year's Ford Thunderbird.
By the time I got my hands on it the whole chassis and all the detail bits were missing, and it had a half dozen different paint jobs on it. It also has signs of damage and modifications over the years, but nothing catastrophic.
My vague plan is to build a new chassis for it (gas powered for cost/simplicity reasons), and restore the body to look nicer. While it looks ok in pics, the paint is cracked and peeling all over the place.
I also want to investigate the metal sheets riveted under the back of it. Should be a fun little distraction.
