3.10.17 scrolling through opening folders looking for something that is something or anything to me in that moment and as i’m going through a random folder labeled “around town” found some photos from a fairly heart breaking day. the first time you drive by a corner that had been special to you after it is gone. a space that felt like you and your partners corner. a place you would go because it was off the main beat and dog friendly and byob and it had an ok sunset view and food that always felt comfortable. a corner it felt like you sat at more than you probably ever actually had. a corner that the first time you drive by and see the building has been completely demolished and removed. it’s not devastating it’s not something that brings tears but it sort of hurts knowing it will never be the same you can’t ever go back there again to that same place and go through those same motions and reminisce about how good and simple and easy it all used to be. it the thing you see and you stop no matter where you are going and what you are doing and you take some photos. sadly in my case none of them truly capture what i wanted them to not my best work but these penned in corks say something i probably can’t.
